Amy and Gary were determined to tie the knot in a beautiful outdoor setting – despite our unreliable British weather! With this in mind, they began the hunt for the perfect outdoor wedding venue – a place that was just as gorgeous on the inside as it was outside.
One venue to feature on the couple’s shortlist was manor house wedding venue West Tower. Before Gary had even popped the question, Amy knew she’d love to get married at West Tower. A visit to the venue confirmed it was the perfect choice, with an idyllic space to get wed outdoors.
“No other venue compared. It offered everything we wanted. The views from the venue were out of this world and the grounds just as stunning.” – Amy
The style of the day
When it came to big-day style, there was just one thing on Amy and Gary’s list – flowers. Amy dreamt of outdoor wedding venues full of gorgeous blooms set against a backdrop of a classic white wedding.
The couple’s florist took all the hard work out of styling West Tower, decorating the space on Amy and Gary’s behalf. She placed large flower arrangements and miniature trees on guests’ wedding breakfast tables for a simple yet stunning finish.
For their wedding cake, Amy and Gary opted for something a little different – three giant French Fancies. The delicious cakes also complemented the couple’s soft and chic colour scheme.
While Amy had imagined herself in a big, princess-style gown, she fell in love with something sleek and fitted instead. Gary opted for something stylish too – a navy blue Ted Baker suit teamed with a pink cravat.
“Gary looked amazing, I couldn’t stop looking at him. He really suited the colour and scrubbed up very well!” – Amy
Despite the heavy rain the day before Amy and Gary’s wedding, the couple were lucky enough to wed outside.
“We had been told to prepare ourselves for an indoor wedding but we must have had someone looking down on us on the day. The sun was shining and the weather perfect for an outdoor ceremony.” – Amy
After the ceremony, canapés were served – including mini steak and chips and mini cheese and ham paninis. This was followed by a scrumptious three-course meal, accompanied by the charming tones of a group of singing waiters. The delicious wedding catering kept on coming with yet more light bites served come evening. From burgers to pizzas to fish and chips, guests indulged in all their favourite fast food snacks before dancing the night away in the Ballroom.
Amy and Gary warmed up the dance floor with a first dance to Six Words, by Wretch 32. Amy also asked her father to take centre stage for a father-daughter dance to a Billy Joel classic – one of her father’s favourite artists.
day. I wouldn’t have changed a thing. We had such a good feeling about West Tower – we chose the right outdoor wedding venues for our special day.” – Amy
