Ian proposed to Nathalie at Christmas, following an amazing three-month backpacking adventure in Australia. Keen to tie the knot as soon as they could, the couple began looking for exclusive wedding venues right away.
The pair visited West Tower in January at an open evening. As soon as they approached the manor house wedding venue, they knew it was “the one”. West Tower’s offerings made the exclusive wedding venue even more appealing – from the welcoming staff to the stylish Ballroom and the views from the house. Nathalie and Ian knew it would be the ideal setting for friends and family to celebrate their marriage.
“We arrived at West Tower not knowing where we wanted to get married and left an hour later – knowing it was the place for us. It was perfect inside and out.”
The style of the day
Ian and Nathalie decided to combine their shared love of Scrabble with pretty peonies for a unique yet charming wedding theme. The wedding tables were styled with pink peonies and Scrabble tiles featured throughout the décor.
“We made so much of the décor ourselves – from the table plan to invites and signs and wedding favours.”
Nathalie opted for a classic wedding gown with quirky accessories for a stylish and personalised look. She teamed her one-shoulder sparkly gown with sparkly Dorothy-inspired shoes, changing into pink Converse pumps by night. Ian and his groomsmen wore navy suits teamed with pink ties and hankies, to match the bridesmaids’ gowns.
Nathalie and Ian decided to spend their whole day celebrating at West Tower. Nathalie arrived bright and early so that she and her bridal party could get ready on-site.
The pair’s ceremony took place in the Ballroom, and featured a unique touch as the couple carried out their own personal ritual.
“We poured different coloured sand into a heart vase during the ceremony, as a symbol of our families coming together. It was definitely one of the most memorable moments of the day.”
The food from the wedding catering team that followed wowed both the couple and their guests, with the main course – chicken crown and stuffing – going down a real treat! Light bites were also served during the evening party and included favourites like bacon muffins and mini hot dogs.
Knowing that dancing wasn’t their strong point, Nathalie and Ian decided to take dance lessons in the run up to their big day. The first dance, to Only Exception, by Paramore, went down very well among their guests and Nathalie’s mum in particular – who even shed a few tears!
“We can’t thank the team enough for their help in making our day as perfect as it was. We were so lucky to find West Tower and although everyone must say it, we loved every minute of our wedding.”
