Gemma and Andy’s Sun-Soaked Summer Wedding Celebration - West Tower

Gemma and Andy’s Sun-Soaked Summer Wedding Celebration

Gemma’s mum played a key role in helping her find the perfect place to get married. In fact, it was Gemma’s mum that first visited West Tower with her and fell in love. With her mum’s stamp of approval, Gemma brought Andy along to visit, who too was overwhelmed with West Tower. Keen to secure their preferred date, the couple booked their big day right away, keeping their fingers crossed for a sunny June wedding.

“I absolutely loved West Tower – as did Andy and my mum. It’s stunning and the grounds are beautiful, adding to the already gorgeous setting.” – Gemma

The style of the day

Out of all her summer wedding ideas Gemma loved the vintage-style themes but wanted to tailor it to West Tower. Rather than go all out with vintage design, she opted for subtle touches to complement the venue.

Gemma’s wedding dress also gave a nod to the vintage era with its high neck and glam embellishment. She teamed her gown with a full-length veil and simple white blooms. Her bridesmaids, on the other hand, injected some colour in the day with coastal blue green maxi dresses perfect for a summer’s day.

The wedding

Andy and Gemma tied the knot at All Saints Church in a civil ceremony that can only be described as emotional. A sun soaked party followed, with a drinks reception outdoors and plenty of photographs. Being fans of West Tower’s grounds, the pair made sure to make the most of the outside before heading inside for a decadent three-course feast.

The couple’s chosen wedding catering impressed all their guests – from their littlest guests to vegetarian diners. They opted for a soup starter, chicken or seabass main and classic sticky toffee pudding for dessert, accompanied by peanut brittle and ice cream. Their younger guests got to enjoy a menu of their own, which included child-pleasing favourites like tomato soup, a traditional roast dinner and an ice cream selection. The evening’s celebrations included a fine feast too – suitable for all ages. This time, a sociable barbeque was served to get party guests in the mood.

“Andy and I had the most amazing wedding day at West Tower. We were so lucky we had glorious sunshine all day, meaning we could make the most of the gorgeous setting.

“We have absolutely no regrets and can’t thank the team enough for making our day so special. Andy & I loved every minute and couldn’t have asked for more.” – Gemma
