Anna and Graeme met on a night out in Ormskirk one October evening. Two years later they spent a weekend in Edinburgh for the Bonfire night celebrations. They wanted to see the fireworks for which this great city is world famous, so they made their way to Calton Hill. As the sun set, Graeme got down on one knee and proposed, and so their celebrations truly began!
Once home, the couple quickly turned their thoughts to choosing their ideal venue. Knowing they wanted to marry locally, they were delighted to find there was an Open Evening at West Tower the following week. Although it was only the second place they’d visited, they instantly fell in love with the stunning venue and booked a date straight away!
“We didn’t go to any other venues after visiting West Tower and our wedding venue was confirmed within 2 months of our engagement.“ – Anna
The Style of the day
Glitter and sparkle were two of Anna’s ‘must haves’ loving the twinkling Christmas trees of West Tower. Blossom Trees, floating candles & gold glitter hearts decorated the tables with sequined table cloths adding yet more sparkle. Tables were named after Everton legends whilst Z-cars played as the couple entered the room for their Wedding Breakfast.
Spotting a gown on a mannequin at The Liverpool & Northwest Wedding Show, Anna immediately began the search to find a local stockist of the Mori Lee dress. When she eventually found one, it was the first and only gown she tried, instantly feeling like a princess. Her mum and sister both agreed that she had indeed found her dream dress. A stunning Tiara and heart shaped diamond earrings completed her outfit. The Groom and groomsmen all wore a three-piece blue suit and brown shoes with Graeme standing out in his tweed suit.
Anna’s dad walked her down the aisle at St Anne’s RC Church in Ormskirk. After the traditional ceremony full of laughter and upbeat hymns everyone made their way to the nearby West Tower.
To begin with, Cava, Peroni and canapes greeted everyone in the Cellar Bar whilst photographs were taken. Anna & Graeme chose Pate, Roast Beef and a trio of desserts for the Wedding Breakfast. A vegetarian option of Feta and Watermelon salad followed by Lancashire Cheese Wellington was freshly prepared by the inhouse kitchen team. Four speeches had everyone laughing, with emotional and funny stories setting the tone for the evening full of fun.
Booking the DJ on the recommendation of West Tower, Anna & Graeme were delighted with his professional, personal service. They danced their way into the Ballroom to Coldplay’s ‘Sky Full of Stars’ similarly this continued as their first dance. It was great to see their friends & family enjoying themselves just as much as they were!
Later, the ‘West Tower buffet’ served from the cosy Leather Lounge offered something for everyone including those with special diets with the couple laying on a Late night feast at 1am!
“It was the best day of our lives, full of laughter, dancing, happiness and love. It truly was a magical day, in a special place with the people we Love.” – Anna
