The venue

West Tower dates back to 1785, having been commissioned by Liverpool shipping magnate Lord Alfred Holt. The tower located on the west part of the house allowed Holt’s staff to locate ships arriving to Formby Point from North America and India. The master of the house could then be notified that his ships were just hours away from docking in Liverpool.

Today, the venue exudes a sense of history and opulence with the rooms cleverly blending the old with the new to stunning effect. West Tower weddings are tailored specifically to you to ensure you enjoy an array of choice and flexibility to create your dream day. The rooms are designed to accommodate up to 150 guests for formal intimate dinners and 250 for evening parties.

Set in eight romantic acres, it is the perfect country house estate for your perfect wedding, with an elegant ballroom, verdant gardens and terrace overlooking the lawn and countryside beyond.

The bridal suite is exquisite and centres on a large four-poster bed. The individual styling complements the original features to deliver indulgence at its best. The en-suite bathroom is spacious with double shower and a large roll-top bath in the middle of the floor. It is the ideal setting for the happy couple to spend their first night together.
