Katie and Ross’ perfect New Year wedding

Ross popped the question to Katie at the restaurant where they had their first date back in June 2015. Their first step was finding the perfect venue, somewhere with gorgeous views and where they could celebrate with close family and friends.
Katie went to University in Ormskirk, so she had heard of West Tower but had never visited. After their first viewing, they both fell in love with the venue, it was just what they’d been searching for.
“We visited a number of venues and we fell in love with West Tower. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and made our day just perfect.” – Katie

The Style of the day

The couple decided on a neutral theme using sophisticated flowers & candles – but not too much; the cake was a tree trunk style cake with ‘K & R’ carved in the bark.

Katie knew as soon as she tried on her dress that it was ‘the one’ and her full-length veil matched the dress perfectly! Simple jewellery completed her outfit ensuring that the focus was on her and her dress!
The flower girls wore rose gold dresses that sparkled for extra bling whilst the bridesmaids wore dusty pink long dresses.

All the groomsmen wore navy blue three piece suits with brown shoes. Ross chose tails coupled with a tweed waistcoat whilst the best man had a standard jacket and tweed waistcoat, the remaining groomsmen all wore navy waistcoats.

The Wedding

The couple chose to get married at West Tower – taking advantage of the beautiful Ballroom for their very personal service.
Afterwards, their guests enjoyed Cava and Crostini in the Cellar Bar whilst being entertained by a saxophonist and magician. This is just one of the things which makes West Tower so special – providing a separate room for guests for welcome drinks and canapes whilst photos are taken.

After a short while, Katie & Ross returned to the ballroom which had been transformed for their wedding breakfast. A traditional three course meal including wine followed with the saxophonist continuing to entertain their guests.

Katie and Ross chose their first dance as man and wife to be ‘I Swear’ by All 4 One. This particular track means a lot to them – reminding them of when they first met, it was also playing in the background when Ross proposed.
Later in the evening, guests enjoyed Fish and Chips, Bacon Muffins and Pizza Rolls – all prepared by the fabulous West Tower team. An amazing Cake of Cheese was also provided by West Tower which was very well received by their guests.

Entertainment for the evening was both a DJ and photobooth. This ensured that all their guests were entertained until the bar closed in the early hours!
“The staff did everything and more for us both leading up to our big day and the day itself. They made sure everything went to plan – a massive thank you.” – Katie
